A pure, everyday bath oil with the light scent of roses

It’s my belief that you can tell a lot about a beauty brand from the quality of its rose bath oil. Jo Malone’s Red Rose Bath Oil (£38, 250ml) is the most luxurious and voluptuous interpretation of rose that I’ve found to date. But more recently I have discovered Ren’s Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil (£25 for 110ml), which is wonderful for different reasons.

Ren is something of a beauty-insider favourite, thanks to its “clean” approach to formulations, its emphasis on 100 per cent pure plant oils and natural fragrances, and the unpretentious, apothecary-style packaging.

Its rose bath oil is more of a functional, use-it-every-day interpretation of rose, rather than one for special occasions. It’s very lightly scented and, like all Ren products, free from petrochemicals, sulfate detergents and parabens. Having long been a fan of the brand’s much-loved Moroccan Rose Otto Ultra-Moisture Body Oil (£32 for 100ml), the only wonder is that it took me so long to discover it.
